The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Ice picks: Wednesday's best NHL bets

Philadelphia Flyers at Montreal Canadiens (-125, 5.5)

The Montreal Canadiens return to the Bell Centre Wednesday, hoping to snap a two-game skid with road losses in Toronto and Detroit.

The Habs play host the Philadelphia Flyers, who have split their two meetings with Montreal this season, most recently knocking off the Canadiens, 3-2, in Philadelphia last month.

Montreal is aiming to have some bodies back in the lineup after center Scott Gomez and defensemen Jaroslav Spacek and Josh Gorges skated at practice Tuesday. Gomez has missed the last two games due to multiple injuries, most notably a broken toe. Without him, the Habs offense has managed just three total goals in that span.

"I probably went 100 percent, in practice you don't want to go out there and worry about it," Gomez told reporters. "With broken toes, your stride's a little off."

Gomez will be reunited with New Jersey teammate Brian Gionta on a line with AHL callup Max Pacioretty. He was leading the AHL in goals and netted 16 goals in his last 19 games with the farm team.

"I think there would be good balance on that line if we do play together," Pacioretty told the media after practice Tuesday. "They're the two skill guys, and I've been playing really well in front of the net and in the corners. So I'd have to be the first one in on the forecheck, and grinding out pucks and going to the net."

Expect the scoring attack to shake its slump Wednesday night in front of a frenzied home-town crowd. The Canadiens average 2.88 goals per home game and are 11-4-2-0 inside the Bell Centre this season.

Pick: Montreal

San Jose Sharks at Nashville Predators (-130, 5.5)

Goals haven’t been hard to come by when the Sharks and Predators collide. Their last four games have had an average of 8.5 goals, toppling the NHL betting totals in each of those meetings.

However, big changes are in store for hockey bettors Wednesday night. And when we say big, we mean 6-foot-6 goaltender Anders Lindback. Nashville’s rookie puck stopper has posted back-to-back shutout victories, stumping the Panthers and Islanders while making 60 combined saves in those wins.

"It's a great feeling," Lindback said after shutting out the Panthers this past weekend. "The guys are doing a really great job in front of me. I only take the first shot, and if there are any rebounds that get through, they get them out for me."

Lindback is playing in place of injured No. 1 goalie Pekka Rinne, who is out until later this month with a knee injury. His efforts have helped the Preds build a 5-1 record in the past six games and improve the team’s home mark to 7-1-3-2.

Pick: Nashville

Wednesday's best NCAAB bets

Akron Zips at No. 20 Minnesota Golden Gophers (-15, N/A)

The Gophers are going to be without one of their top defenders for at least another game or two, but that hasn’t hurt them much so far – at least not in the win column.

Guard Al Nolen has been out of action since tests revealed a stress fracture in his foot last month. Minnesota shut Eastern Kentucky down on the perimeter on its way to a 71-58 win on Saturday, their third victory in a row, but couldn’t cover as 16-point favorites.

"Coach (Tubby Smith) was just emphasizing shutting them down," Blake Hoffarber, who scored 14 points, told reporters after the game. "Offense wasn't really clicking, so we've got to win the game playing defense."

That defense isn’t nearly as good without Nolen though. With him in the lineup Minnesota allowed just over 67 points per game while opponents hit just under 34 percent from beyond the arc. The Gophers are giving up more than 75 points on 44 percent 3-point shooting since he has been on the shelf.

Looks like too many points here even against Akron’s mediocre offense.

Pick: Zips

UC Santa Barbara Gauchos at No. 22 UNLV Runnin' Rebels (-16.5, N/A)

Everything looked great for the Runnin’ Rebels as they took a 5-point lead into the half against Louisville on Saturday. They had hit seven of their 12 trey attempts and held all but one Cardinals starter off the score sheet in the opening 20 minutes.

However, it was a different story in the second frame as UNLV’s outside shooting went cold and the rest of the Cardinals woke up. Louisville came away with a 77-69 victory, marking the third straight game the Rebels couldn’t cover the number.

UNLV’s tough travel schedule that hasn’t had the team play a game at the Thomas and Mack Center in three weeks - with one neutral site game in there - could have played a role in the second half of that game, but look for the Rebels to rebound at home on Tuesday.

"We didn't do the things we have to do to win," Coach Lon Kruger said. "We'll learn from this and pay more attention to details and get back and get better."

Pick: Rebels

Pick 'n' roll: Wednesday's best NBA bets

Cleveland Cavaliers at Miami Heat (-17.5, 194)

It’s safe to say there’s a little less hype over the second matchup between LeBron James and his former team.

The first time they got together in Cleveland, King James showed the Cavs what they’re missing this year by going off for 38 points, eight assists and five rebounds in a 118-90 beatdown with Miami set as 5.5-point favorites.

Any hoops bettor would beg for a line like that this time around, but Miami’s nine-game winning streak coupled with Cleveland’s eight-game losing skid leave us with some fat odds to deal with – fat enough to check in as the biggest spread Miami has seen all year.

''[Coach] said, 'If y'all get stops, if y'all get rebounds, then y'all can do whatever y'all want,' so as players we enjoy that,” Dwyane Wade told the Miami Herald. “When the ball goes through the basket, then we've got to do what he wants us to do.''

''We're a different ball club. We know our identity now.''

And right now that identity is a team that consistently wins by double digits. That shouldn’t change here, but you have to be worried about a backdoor cover here if/when the Big Three hit the pine.

Pick: Over

Boston Celtics at New York Knicks (3.5, 206)

This is becoming a common theme for the Boston Celtics – Shaquille O’Neal is questionable for Wednesday’s game.

Shaq has a lot of miles on him of course, so this isn’t much of a surprise. He has missed the last two games with a strained calf and didn’t practice on Tuesday but the C’s could really use him inside against Amar’e Stoudemire.

Stoudemire has scored at least 30 points in eight straight games and is averaging 26.2 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.

"Whoever we start at center will guard him,” Celtics coach Doc Rivers said about facing Stoudemire. “Whoever starts at center will post him. So we won't do much different. Obviously, there will be times when Baby (Glen Davis) and Kevin (Garnett) are on the floor together and that will be an effective lineup, as well, for us."

The Knicks are beginning to bring that buzz back to the Garden and Stoudemire isn’t the only guy filling the bucket as they are averaging 116 per game over the last five.

Pick: Knicks

Bettors' best friend (BBF): Wednesday's wagering tips

Lines to watch

The Knicks were set as a 3.5-point underdog at the open against Celtics, but now sit at +3.

Who’s hot

NBA: Chicago Bulls have won six straight, covering in four of those games.

NBA: Philadelphia 76ers have covered in eight consecutive games.

NBA: New York Knicks have won eight in a row, covering the number seven times.

NBA: Miami Heat have won and covered nine straight.

Who’s not

NBA: Cleveland Cavaliers have lost eight straight, dropping the cash seven times.

NBA: New Orleans Hornets 1-5 against the spread in their last six.

NBA: Phoenix Suns have lost three in a row both straight up and against the spread.

NCAAB: UNLV has dropped three straight against the spread.

NHL: Washington Capitals have lost six straight.

NHL: New Jersey Devils have lost five in a row.

Key stat

7.9 – The San Antonio Spurs average 7.9 more points per 100 possessions when George Hill is on the floor than when he is on the bench. Hill has scored in double digits in each of the club’s last 11 games, leading many to name him as a candidate for Sixth Man of the Year honors.

Injury that shouldn’t be overlooked

Derrick Rose (wrist), Chicago Bulls – Rose is questionable for Wednesday’s game against the Toronto Raptors after he hit the deck a couple of times Monday against the Pacers. X-rays showed no fractures, but his wrists, shin and ankles are all hurting. Reports indicate he had a tough time putting his socks on following Monday’s game.

Game of the day

Boston Celtics at New York Knicks

Notable quotable

"Hey, if that's what y'all want it to be, if it'll sell more tickets and get more viewers, then I guess so. [The media makes] up the rivalries, we don't. To be honest, New York is playing well, they're in our division, and both teams are streaking, so it's going to be an exciting game." – Boston’s Paul Pierce on whether the Celtics have a rivalry with the Knicks.

Notes and tips

Sebastian Telfair’s time in Minnesota may be nearing its end. Timberwolves beat writer Jerry Zgoda thinks the point guard may be traded now that Jonny Flynn is expected to return to the lineup Tuesday. Telfair, who is averaging 7.7 points and 3.5 assists per game, is currently has a $2.7 million contract that expires after this season.

New York Rangers captain Chris Drury will return to the lineup Wednesday against the Pittsburgh Penguins. The veteran center has been out of the lineup since breaking his finger on Oct. 15. The Rangers will work him into the lineup slowly, starting on the fourth line, but he is expected to see a lot of penalty killing time.

The Phoenix Suns are also expected to get a big boost as Robin Lopez will definitely play and may start Wednesday against the Timberwolves. Lopez has been out of since suffering a pinched nerve in his right knee on Nov. 14 and his return is expected to move Channing Frye over to the power forward spot while Lopez checks in at center.

$300* Oregon State Beavers +7.5
The Beaver's backcourt is one of the best in the Pac-10 and they have been doing something different this year as a team, they are scoring points. They have a solid defense and they have a big man to answer Derek Selvig of Montana. Montana also plays good team defense but has a slow paced offense and a lack of good shooting. The Beavers should control the boards in the match-up and in a low scoring game the will cover the +7.5. The Beavers are 25 - 10 ATS in their last 35 road games.

$300* UC - Santa Barbara +17
This UC - Santa Barbara team has been over looked by everyone this season and as Dangerfield says they get no respect. This UCSB team is the best team in the Big West and have 4 very good starters from last years team that returned. They also have 2 Big West preseason All - Conference plays and last years conference player of the year in guard Orlando Johnson. UCSB is 5 - 2 ATS this season and they are the better free throw shooting team and with a spread like this one free throws help keep the game close. UCSB has the speed and size to keep up with this UNLV team with this being said I have UNLV winning of course but UCSB will cover the +17.

$500* Boston Bruins +105
I don't have a write up for this game as the play came to me from the Texas Syndicate.

Central Florida is 8-0, playing #296 schedule, with only two lined tilts; they beat South Florida 65-59 (-7.5) in only game as favorite. ULL is 0-6 vs D-I teams, and also lost to Texas College- they're 1-2-1 vs spread as an underdog. C-USA home favorites of 14+ points are 0-3 vs spread.
